These courses are offered in collaboration with Manipal Skill Development Center, Manipal (Recognized by National Skill Development Corporation). The teaching and training is provided by MEFFMH, a unit of Manasa Trust.

DIPLOMA IN COUNSELING AND GUIDANCE
Introduction

Living is a process of learning to cope with increasing demands. It is a process of learning to overcome frustration, resolve conflicts, pressure, assess changes and repeatedly work out appropriate ways of meeting changed requirements. In this process, many individuals feel stressed, emotionally and psychologically burdened. Counselling is a process of helping such people through psychological skills and techniques.

This course trains individuals in enhancing self-awareness by strengthening one’s potentialities. The major objective of the course is to train the student in basic techniques of counselling, provide an introduction to psychological principles, and give an overview of emotional and behavioural issues with a working knowledge of how to counsel those in distress. As the course gives a broad overview of counselling, it enables the student to work in NGOs, schools, corporate sectors, rehabilitation centers, help lines, online counselling, de-addiction centers, and hospitals.

DIPLOMA IN CHILD AND SCHOOL COUNSELING
Introduction

Child and School Counselling aims to help children cope better with their emotions, understand their problems, and develop necessary coping skills. It also helps children to make positive choices for life. In modern times, helping children and their parents to identify and manage children with problems is the need of the hour. The course trains students to identify childhood problems, gain an in-depth understanding of child psychology, and acquire working knowledge in child counselling.

Qualified child counsellors work in schools, NGOs, child guidance centers, special schools, children’s homes, rehabilitation centers for children with special needs, help lines, and online counselling platforms.

Introduction

Organisational and corporate Counselling aims to help employees cope better with their stress and deal with their emotional and psychological problems. It also helps to develop skills to function effectively and adapt efficiently in the workplace. In modern times, it is understood that the health and success of organisations depends on the health and happiness of their employees. Organisational and corporate counsellors use their knowledge and skills to create a supportive work environment.

Students of corporate counselling learn principles of organisational psychology, analysis of personnel problems, HRM skills, legal issues, and corporate counselling techniques. Qualified corporate counsellors work as trainers, supervisors, managers, counsellors, or consultants in industries, companies, educational institutions, administrative offices, HR sections of hospitals, NGOs, and more.

DIPLOMA IN COUNSELING AND SPECIFIC LEARNING DISABILITY (SLD)
Introduction

Specific Learning Disability means a condition where one or more of the basic psychological processes involved in understanding or in using language, spoken or written, may manifest itself in the imperfect ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell or do mathematical calculations. Children with Specific Learning Disabilities not only face academic difficulties but also suffer from emotional and psychological distress. Providing counselling to these children and their parents helps them manage difficulties and cope with academic demands.

Students opting for Diploma in counselling and SLD learn to identify and analyse different types of learning disabilities and get training in intervention techniques. They are trained to deal with psychological issues of these children, their teachers, and parents. Qualified counsellors work at educational institutions, special schools, residential schools, teacher training centers, tutorials, remedial teaching centers, and NGOs working for child welfare.

Note: This course is especially useful for teachers or anyone working in educational institutions, institutions for children, institutions for children with special needs, child psychologists, etc. However, completion of this diploma does not authorize certification of any child for LD.

Introduction

Learning Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) provides practical tools for personal development and effective communication. NLP helps us understand the connection between our thoughts, language, and behaviour. These skills are valuable in various areas of life, including relationships, work, and helping professions.

This course trains students to learn basic principles of NLP and provides practical training in the application of NLP techniques. Qualified counsellors can work as trainers or counsellors in organisations, consultation centres, family counselling centres, soft skill training centres, and similar setups.
