About Post Graduation Programme M.Sc in Psychology ( Affiliated to Kuvempu University)

The College is run by Manasa Trust which runs an exclusive 150 bedded neuropsychiatric hospital, Rehabilitation centre and child guidance clinic. Thus, the course is designed in such a way that lot of scope is given for ‘ample clinical exposure’. The core team involves professors, psychologists, psychiatrists and allied mental health professionals with expertise in their areas.

 

The two year (4 semesters) regular full time course is affiliated to Kuvempu University with the following specialisations

  • Clinical Psychology
  • Child Psychology
  • Industrial and corporate Psychology

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES(PEOs)

PEO 1: Graduates will be successful professionals in Psychology and allied fields with proficiency of working in multi-disciplinary fields.

PEO 2: Graduates will pursue higher education with synergistic combination of basic and applied fields of Psychology.

PEO 3: Graduates will inculcate ethical and social values for the well- being of the society.

 

Programme Educational Outcomes ( PEO):

PEO1: To provide advanced theoretical and application based skills to enable the students practice psychology in various areas of profession independently or in teams

PEO2 : To enable students with skills of fundamental and applied psychological research to pursue advanced research

PEO3: To imbibe skills of community service in students to enable them to device community level mental health programs

PEO4: To prepare students to respond to societal needs through an understanding of the rural ethos, Indian culture and plurality of ethnic and religious communities in the country at large.

PEO5: To encourage students to develop lifelong learning skills, entrepreneurship abilities and ethical values for a successful professional career

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO) :

At the end of the two years Master’s Programme in Psychology the students will be able to:

PSO 1 : Analyze, innovate and provide psychological help and support to real life problems.

PSO 2 : Acquire adequate practical skills in counselling, psychological assessment and psychological tool development to and function independently and in teams as psychologists in all areas of work.

PSO 3 :  Specialize in any theoretical framework and are of work in applied and theoretical Psychology

PSO 4 :  Demonstrate strong commitment to professional ethics and moral values through their conduct
