Kateel Ashok Pai Memorial Institutes is a Group of Institutions started by Manasa Trust, Shivamogga. Late. Dr. K A Ashok Pai, was an internationally renowned community psychiatrist, writer, film maker, philanthropist and a pioneer in the field of mental health.
KAPMI (Affiliated to Kuvempu University and Recognized by the Govt. of Karnataka) started in memory of this great visionary, aims to provide higher education in the field of psychology, humanities, science and commerce in an attempt to build a healthier society.

When I reminisce about my three years of college life in Kateel Ashok Pai Memorial College, I see the transferable set of competencies that got build up over a period of time in me. I would like to talk about the skills and mindsets that helped me to raise the bar of excellence. And when I hark back to my journey of three years I think skills like strategic planning, optimism, coaching, managing self and time got developed at grass root level that certainly played a vital role in graduation. Throughout the journey I have learned a lot. It provided me with some great opportunities which helped me improve myself in every aspect as a student. "We don't grow when things are easy, we grow when we face challenges." I resonate completely with this adage, those three years were challenging but facing challenges became easy because of KAPMC they escalated me on the learning curve and led to my personal development. The infrastructure of the college is fabulous, Library is also well maintained with many kind of books as well as journals, the computer lab is also excellent. I have fond memories of my time at KAPMIAHS. The rigorous coursework included clinical exposure, in-depth syllabus, research work, case presentations, seminar presentations and engaging professors have really helped me gain knowledge and skill necessary for the clinical psychology field. Along with academics the community extension activities, psycho-education through street plays, seminars and workshops and extra-curricular activities have helped me explore my creativity and practical application of the theory knowledge into the real world set up. KAPMIAHS assisted me in building a solid and ideal basis for the challenging real world. I entirely credit my training for the fact that I now have the confidence to handle cases as a practising psychologist. I value hands-on education, and my institution has always been successful in providing that for me. Leading clinical psychologists helped us comprehend the theoretical facets of the profession and provided us with individualised instruction to learn therapy. We have also got the chance to learn from many esteemed institutes. The college is welcoming and supportive of students growth and learning. We've had the chance to work on research papers, build tools, and learn about yoga's potential as an integrated therapy.
